Dr. Francesco Ciriello

Biography

Francesco Ciriello is a Senior Lecturer in Engineering at King's College London where he teaches interdisciplinary design and mechatronics while supporting laboratory activities within his department. He has a strong background in Education, having previously worked with the Education Group at MathWorks, where he provided consultancy services to educators and researchers in software development using MATLAB and Simulink. His research interests lie in Simulation and Artificial Intelligence, with applications in Robotics and Control Systems, as well as signal processing and the Internet of Things (IoT). Francesco holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, focusing on experimental fluid dynamics, and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Imperial College London. Additionally, he serves as a visiting lecturer on continuing professional development courses at the University of Oxford, teaching short courses on Artificial Intelligence, Cloud and Edge Computing, and Digital Twins. His research also encompasses integrated design and simulation, lab development and virtualization, as well as environmental fluid dynamics and experimental fluid measurement.
