Francille Rusan Wilson is an Associate Professor in American Studies and Ethnicity and History at the University of Southern California. As an intellectual labor historian, her current research explores the intersections of Black labor movements, Black social scientists, and Black women’s history during the Jim Crow era. Her book, 'Segregated Scholars: Black Social Scientists and the Creation of Black Labor Studies, 1890-1950', has received the Letitia Woods Brown Memorial Prize from the Association of Black Women Historians. Wilson obtained her Ph.D. in American History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988 and was a fellow at the Stanford University Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences from 2017 to 2018. Her specialties include African American history with a focus on labor, race, and gender.
