Biography

Francis Ogoke is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, where he directs the FORGE Lab. His research is primarily focused on developing artificial intelligence and deep learning methods to enhance and control engineering processes. He works on creating physics-informed deep learning methods to accelerate simulation-based insights and designing probabilistic frameworks for uncertainty analysis. Additionally, he develops generalizable representation learning frameworks with the aim of building foundational models for various engineering problems. His interests extend to applying these frameworks in advanced manufacturing, sensing, cyber-physical systems, and digital twins. Ogoke received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2024, where he was also a Presidential Fellow and recipient of the Ph.D. Dissertation Award. He completed his B.S.E. in Chemical Biological Engineering at Princeton University in 2019. Prior to joining the faculty, he served as a postdoctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
