Biography

Dr. Francis Palma received a Ph.D. in Software Engineering in 2015 from École Polytechnique de Montréal, University of Montréal, Canada, where he was supervised by Dr. Naouel Moha and Dr. Yann-Gaël Guéhéneuc. His Ph.D. thesis, titled 'Unifying Service Oriented Technologies Specification Detection Antipatterns', focused on various aspects of Service Oriented Architecture and published extensively in top IEEE, Springer, and ACM software engineering journals and conferences. Prior to joining the University of New Brunswick, Dr. Palma served as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology at Linnaeus University in Sweden and held postdoctoral positions at Toronto Metropolitan University and Concordia University. His research predominantly revolves around Empirical Software Engineering, Software Quality, and applying Machine Learning techniques in Software Maintenance and Requirements Engineering. Dr. Palma has been awarded the Influential Paper award at the European Conference on Software Architecture for his significant contributions in the field.
