Biography

Francis Sullivan, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 1976 and became an attending physician in emergency medicine at Rhode Island Hospital in 1983. Dr. Sullivan completed a categorical internship in internal medicine and served active duty in the U.S. Public Health Service for a year and a half. He pursued residency training in Internal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed a Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine within the Division of Anesthesiology and Respiratory/Critical Care. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and has research interests focused on training issues related to local prehospital care and disaster system design, particularly concerning the Emergency Medicine residency program at Brown Medical School.
