Dr. Francisco Cruz Naranjo

Biography

Francisco Cruz Naranjo is a Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) with a focus on Computer Science Engineering. He received his bachelor's degree in Engineering and his master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Santiago, Chile, in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2017 from the University of Hamburg, Germany. His primary research interests lie in developmental robotics, specifically in interactive reinforcement learning. He has served as a Visiting Researcher at the Emergent Robotics Laboratory at Osaka University in 2015 and at the Polytechnic School of the University of Pernambuco, Brazil, in 2018. Currently, he is engaged in research on reinforcement learning, explainable artificial intelligence, human-robot interaction, artificial neural networks, and psychologically bio-inspired models.
