Francisco H. G. Ferreira is the Amartya Sen Professor of Inequality Studies at the London School of Economics and the Director of the International Inequalities Institute. His research focuses on the measurement, causes, and consequences of inequality and poverty, especially in developing countries. He has published extensively on these subjects and has received several awards for his work, including the Richard Stone Prize in Applied Econometrics and the Kendrick Prize from the International Association for Research in Income and Wealth. In addition, he is a non-resident Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) and an Affiliated Scholar at the Stone Centers at the City University of New York and the University of Chicago. Ferreira has served as the President Elect of the Society for the Study of Economic Inequality (ECINEQ) and was a past President of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA). He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Economic Inequality and worked with the World Bank in various roles, including Chief Economist for the Africa Region and Senior Adviser in the Research Department. Ferreira taught Economics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and at the Paris School of Economics, and he holds a Ph.D. in Economics from LSE.
