Biography

Francisco R. García-García is a Senior Lecturer in Chemical Reaction Engineering and the Discipline Programme Manager at the School of Engineering, University of Edinburgh. He leads a research group focused on clean energy production and emission control through the synthesis, design, and development of multifunctional catalytic reactors. His pioneering work involves the use of micro-structured ceramic hollow fibers to support catalysts and facilitate integration of multiple processes into a single system. Francisco’s expertise includes innovative material design for hydrogen production, emission control, and carbon capture, complemented by an extensive publication record backed by public and industry funding. With a solid background in Chemistry and significant contributions to BEng, MEng, and MSc programs, he has been recognized as a runner-up for the 2021 Edinburgh University Student Association Teacher of the Year Award and has received the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the Royal Pontifical Higher University of San Francisco Xavier of Chuquisaca in Bolivia for his contributions to Chemical Reaction Engineering.
