Biography

Francisco J. Sánchez-Rivera aims to understand how genetic variation shapes normal physiology and disease, with a focus on cancer. The overarching goal of Sánchez-Rivera's laboratory is to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which genetic variation influences these processes, particularly in the context of cancer. His research involves the development and application of genome engineering technologies, genetically-engineered mouse models (GEMMs), and single cell lineage tracing omics approaches to obtain comprehensive biological insights into disease evolution at a single-cell resolution. Through this work, he hopes to produce actionable discoveries that pave the way for therapeutic strategies to treat cancer and related diseases.
