Biography

Franco Peirone is an Assistant Professor of European Public Law at Maastricht University - Faculty of Law, Department of Public Law, since September 2021. He developed legal education at the University of Torino where he received his LL.B and LL.M in 2011, and a Ph.D. in 2015. He has also been a visiting student at Maastricht University in 2010 and a visiting scholar at George Washington University in 2014. Peirone was a post-doctoral scholar at Università del Piemonte Orientale in 2016 and earned his LL.M. from New York University in 2017. In 2018, he was an Emile Noël Fellow at the Jean Monnet Center for International Regional Economic Law & Justice. He previously worked as a Lecturer at Maastricht University from 2018 to 2021 and is affiliated with the Department of Public Law (Constitutional Law) and the Maastricht Centre of European Law (MCEL).
