François-Joseph Lapointe leads the Laboratory of Molecular Ecology and Evolution at the Université de Montréal. He is a full professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. His research interests encompass phylogenetics, systematics, metagenomics, and population genetics. He has authored over a hundred publications in evolutionary biology and has developed several statistical tests and algorithms in bioinformatics.
