Biography

François Champoux is a Professor at the University of Montreal in the Faculty of Medicine. He has a Postdoctoral degree in Neurology from McGill University, where he specialized in Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Montreal Neurological Institute. Champoux holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Audiology from the University of Montreal and has a Master's degree in Health Sciences - Audiology option from the University of Ottawa. His academic training also includes a Master's degree in Psychology and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, both from the University of Montreal. Champoux's research interests primarily focus on the neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of the central auditory system, auditory neurophysiology, multisensory integration, central auditory processes, brain plasticity, posture and balance, and deafness. He has received several awards for excellence in teaching and for his contributions to research and education in audiology. Champoux has supervised numerous graduate students and has led various research projects aimed at improving auditory function and understanding the processes involved in auditory perception and rehabilitation.
