Biography

Frank Crooks joined Concordia University in 1987 and has developed and taught a variety of courses related to business law, ethics, and professional standards at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. He is actively involved in designing the ethics component of JMSB’s Sustainable Investment Professional Certificate (SIPC). Professor Crooks holds law degrees (LLL, LLB) from the University of Ottawa, an MA in educational studies from Concordia University, and a BComm in marketing from McGill University. He is a member in good standing of the Quebec Bar Association since 1985 and the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario) since 1991. He co-authored the book “Fundamentals of Quebec Business Law and Ethics” in 2013. He served as the director of the John Molson Executive MBA Program from 2011 to 2014, and practices corporate commercial law, specializing in incorporation, acquisition, leasing, and contract negotiations. Professor Crooks has worked as an attorney and legal counsel at various Montreal firms including Robinson Sheppard Shapiro and IVANHOÉ INC., before starting his own law practice. He works extensively with entrepreneurs and start-up businesses as well as founders and directors of successful Montreal-based metasearch engine companies.
