Dr. Frank Detterbeck

Biography

Frank Detterbeck, Professor of Surgery at Yale University and Associate Director of the Yale Cancer Center, has had a distinguished career focused on thoracic oncology. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology from the University of Michigan and obtained his MD from Northwestern University. He completed his general surgery training at the Virginia Mason Clinic in Seattle and pursued a cardiothoracic fellowship with a focus on thoracic transplantation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With extensive experience, he has risen through the ranks at the University of North Carolina before joining Yale in 2005.
