Frank Dimster is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Southern California's School of Architecture, with extensive academic and practical experience in architecture and urban design. He has taught design studios and lectured on urban issues in major cities such as Hamburg and Vienna. As a principal at William L. Pereira Associates, he was responsible for large-scale projects abroad. Since establishing his own practice in 1980, his work has focused on various small-scale housing projects in Los Angeles, the Bahamas, and Europe. Dimster has received several accolades, including a design award from the Los Angeles AIA Chapter for a single-family residence, as well as commendations from the LA/AIA and the Mayor of Los Angeles. In recognition of his contributions, the German government awarded him the Distinguished Service Award for his work in the restoration of Villa Aurora. In 1997, he was elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. His research interests include residential design, the restoration of the Freeman House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Hollywood, as well as contemporary Austrian architecture and urban design. He is the author of the book 'New Austrian Architecture' published by Rizzoli Press.
