Biography

Frank McLoughlin is a leading voice in the further education and skills sector in the UK. With 14 years of experience, he served as CEO and Principal of City Islington College, one of the highest-performing colleges in the country, which has been awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Further and Higher Education twice. He has played a significant role in advising on policy development at local, regional, and national levels, including as Chair of the influential Commission on Adult Vocational Teaching and Learning. His reports continue to shape the future of technical education and training. Frank is also an associate director at the Education and Training Foundation, where he has led the co-design and co-delivery of leadership programs for college principals and CEOs under the auspices of Oxford Saïd. Additionally, he acts as a special adviser and executive coach for a select group of college CEOs. He holds positions as a trustee of the Royal Anniversary Trust and as a member of the Advisory Board of the Education Endowment Foundation. Frank is an honorary fellow at University College London and City University and is a companion of the Chartered Management Institute. He was awarded a CBE in 2009 and received a Knighthood in 2015. At Saïd Business School, he teaches a custom executive education program titled Preparing for the CEO role.
