Biography

Frank Pasquale is a Professor at Cornell Tech and Cornell Law School, specializing in law, artificial intelligence, algorithms, and machine learning. He is the author of influential works including "The Black Box Society" and "New Laws of Robotics," published by Harvard University Press, and has co-edited significant volumes such as "The Oxford Handbook of Ethics of Artificial Intelligence" and "Transparent Data Mining: Big and Small Data." His work has been translated into a dozen languages. Pasquale is an affiliate fellow at Yale University’s Information Society Project, a member of the American Law Institute, and serves as co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Cross-Disciplinary Research in Computational Law in the Netherlands. He is also a member of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence on Automated Decision-Making and Society. In 2023, Pasquale served as a distinguished visiting faculty member at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University and was a Marshall Scholar at Oxford University.
