Biography

Frank Petzold is a full professor specializing in Architectural Informatics at the Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on the integration of information technology into architectural design processes, analyzing the activities of architects, formulating requirements for digital tools, and developing innovative technological solutions. Before joining TUM in 2009, he completed his doctorate in 2001 at Bauhaus University Weimar, where he also served as a junior professor. In 2014, he co-founded the LOC - Center of Digital Methods for the Built Environment and became an associate member of the Department of Informatics at TUM in 2017. Petzold has been actively involved in various academic committees and organizations, including the German Federal Association of Deans and Directors of Architecture, and he is a founding member of the Association for Architectural Informatics in German-speaking regions. Furthermore, he has contributed extensively to the field through numerous key publications.
