Biography

Frank E Pollick is a Professor at the University of Glasgow, in the School of Psychology & Neuroscience and Director of Innovation, Engagement and Enterprise. His research interests lie in the perception of human movement and the cognitive neural processes that underlie the ability to understand actions. Recent work has emphasized brain imaging, exploring individual differences particularly in relation to autism and depression. His research applications extend to areas such as virtual reality and cyber sickness, as well as trust in human-AI interactions. He obtained BS degrees in Physics and Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982, an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 1984, and a PhD in Cognitive Sciences from the University of California, Irvine in 1991. He also spent a significant period as an invited researcher at ATR Human Information Processing Research Labs in Kyoto, Japan from 1991 to 1997.
