Biography

Frank Provenzano is an Assistant Professor at the Data Science Institute at Columbia University, where he also holds a position at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Department of Neurology and the Taub Institute. His research focuses on neuroimaging-derived biomarkers using clinically acquired datasets. He has developed methods to interrogate the subfields of the hippocampus using non-BOLD fMRI, which is particularly relevant for understanding psychosis, cognitive aging, and Alzheimer's disease. His work has expanded to include PET and MRI imaging techniques to appreciate structural and functional changes in a variety of diseases such as PTSD, Lewy Body Dementia, schizophrenia, and tuberous sclerosis complex. Provenzano currently heads the epilepsy post-processing imaging efforts and is a member of the biomarker core at the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center while also serving as a co-investigator for the Multiple Sclerosis Brain Bank.
