Dr. Frankie Condon

Biography

Frankie Condon is a Professor at the University of Waterloo in the field of English Language Literature. He holds a BFA from York University, an MA from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and a PhD from the University at Albany, State University of New York. His primary research interests include Composition, Rhetoric, Communication, and Writing Center Studies, with specific focus on the intersections of critical race theory, labor, and rhetoric studies. Condon has co-edited a notable collection titled 'CounterStories Writing Center' which received the Outstanding Book Award from the International Writing Centers Association. He has held significant leadership roles, including serving as Past-Chair for the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC). His teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of understanding the power of language and its role in shaping human relations. Condon actively publishes work examining anti-racist pedagogy and critical theories in writing studies. His recent projects and speaking engagements further advance discussions on social justice in academic settings, highlighting the imperative of nurturing agency among scholars and students alike in confronting societal issues.
