Biography

Franklin M. Orr, Jr. is the Keleen Carlton Beal Professor of Petroleum Engineering, Emeritus at Stanford University, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1985. He holds the Keleen Carlton Beal Chair in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering and has previously served as the Dean of the School of Earth Sciences. In addition to his research and administrative roles, he teaches graduate courses in mathematics related to multiphase and multicomponent flow and thermodynamics, contributing to the education of future leaders in the field of energy and environmental science.
