Biography

Fransisca Indraswari is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and a Clinician Educator at Brown University. Originally from Indonesia, she pursued her medical education at the Duke-National University of Singapore. After completing her preliminary internal medicine training at Montefiore Medical Center, she underwent a neurology residency at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. Furthering her expertise, she completed a vascular neurology fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital, affiliated with Brown University, where she continues her journey as a neurohospitalist and primary stroke center director at Miriam Hospital. Her research focuses on the acute treatment and secondary prevention of cerebrovascular diseases, investigating modifiable risk factors that predict outcomes in acute ischemic stroke, and exploring rarer presentations of cerebrovascular diseases such as cervical artery dissection and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Indraswari supervises medical students during their neurology clerkship and mentors both PLME students and PA students at Johnson & Wales University.
