Dr. Frantisek Franek

Biography

Frantisek Franek is a Professor Emeritus at McMaster University, specializing in Computer Science and Mathematics. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Toronto in 1983 and holds an RNDr. from Charles University in Prague, obtained in 1976, focusing on Cybernetics. His research interests encompass various areas, including string algorithms, compilers, and databases within Computer Science. He also works in Combinatorics, specifically in design theory and graph theory, along with Set Theory, focusing on Boolean algebras and dynamical systems. Over his distinguished academic career, Franek has contributed significantly to multiple fields and has been recognized for his expertise and extensive knowledge in these domains.
