Biography

Franz Franchetti is a Kavčić-Moura Professor and the Associate Dean for Research at the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He received his Dipl.-Ing. (M.Sc.) in Technical Mathematics and his Dr. techn. (Ph.D.) in Computational Mathematics from the Vienna University of Technology in 2000 and 2003, respectively. He is also involved in the commercial sector as the CTO and Co-Founder of Spiral Gen, Inc., a startup that commercializes related technologies.
