Biography

Fraser McMillan is a Lecturer in Scottish Electoral Politics at the University of Edinburgh's School of Social and Political Science. He obtained his PhD from the University of Strathclyde in 2019. His research primarily focuses on devolved voting behaviour, comparative party politics, election pledges, and representative democracy. In 2021, he became a member of the ESRC-funded Scottish Election Study (SES) team where he currently serves as a Co-Investigator. Prior to his current position, McMillan worked on postdoctoral projects at the University of Glasgow. In January 2024, he joined the University of Edinburgh's Politics and International Relations department as a Fellow in Territorial Politics. McMillan is also involved in employing People Analytics to gather and analyze data to improve website functionality and enhance user experience on departmental web pages.
