Biography

Fred Langerak is a Full Professor and chair of the Product Development & Management Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship & Marketing (ITEM) group within the Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He has an academic background that includes an MSc and a PhD from the Erasmus School of Economics in Rotterdam. Since joining TU/e in 2008, he has worked as an Assistant and Associate Professor of Marketing Strategy and Innovation. His research focuses on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of processes related to product development, including conceiving, designing, and launching new products. Key research interests include fuzzy front-end management, portfolio management, accelerated product development, and strategies for effectively launching products into the market. Over the years, Fred has held various leadership roles, including vice-dean of his department and editorial board member for journals related to product innovation management. He has received several prestigious awards for his contributions to academic research and continues to be actively involved in the innovation management community, having co-founded the Dutch chapter of the Product Development & Management Association (PDMA).
