Biography

Fred Saad is a world-renowned researcher and professor of urologic surgery at the University of Montreal, holding the Raymond Garneau Chair in Prostate Cancer. His research primarily focuses on molecular prognostic markers and new approaches concerning advanced prostate cancer. Since establishing one of the first multidisciplinary clinics specialized in prostate cancer in North America in 1993, Dr. Saad has coordinated 40 clinical and fundamental research projects in urologic oncology. He leads major initiatives that impact the quality of life and survival of men with prostate cancer. At the University Hospital Center of Montreal, he is the head of the Urology Department and directs the Genitourinary Oncology program, along with a molecular oncology laboratory dedicated to prostate cancer. Dr. Saad has received multiple accolades for his contributions to research and clinical care, including being elected as a Grand Name of Medicine in Quebec in 2018 and receiving the Exceptional Contribution Award in 2017.
