Dr. Frédéric Bernard

Biography

Frédéric Bernard was born in 1979 and obtained a law degree from the University of Geneva in 2002, followed by a diploma in advanced studies in obligations law in 2005 and a doctorate in law in 2009, focusing on the relationship between the rule of law and the fight against terrorism. In 2010, he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, in the United States. He obtained his lawyer's license in 2013 and has practiced in a Geneva law firm, where he continues to provide advisory services. He has been a full professor at the University of Geneva since 2019 after serving as a lecturer at the Global Studies Institute of the University of Geneva from 2011 to 2019. His areas of expertise include administrative law, constitutional law, human rights, environmental law, and counter-terrorism. He is the author of various publications in both French and English.
