Biography

Frédéric Sauvé graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Université de Montréal in 1996. He completed a veterinary internship in applied veterinary sciences in 1997 and a Master's degree in science in 1999 at the same university. After a few years in general practice and a residency program in veterinary dermatology at Université de Montréal, he obtained his diploma from the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2004. In 2003, he joined the team at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vétérinaire (CHUV) in the Dermatology Service as a clinician, quickly getting involved in administrative roles. From 2008 to 2020, he also participated in clinical teaching for senior students at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island. He became an assistant professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 and currently serves as the president of the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. His research interests primarily focus on feline allergy, large animal dermatology, and bacteriology.
