Dr. Frederick Grouzet

Biography

Frederick Grouzet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Victoria, where he also serves as a Graduate Adviser. He earned his PhD from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). His primary research focuses on the interplay between personal goals and values as they relate to core self-identity and psychological well-being. He explores how social contexts, such as higher education and organizational settings, shape personal growth experiences including significant life transitions and traumas. Additionally, Grouzet investigates the relationships between goals, values, and both personal and social well-being, including aspects such as happiness and social responsibility. He has a strong interest in quantitative psychology, employing methods like structural equation modeling and longitudinal data analysis in his research. His contributions to the field are reflected in various publications that address themes such as motivation, self-regulation, and ecological well-being.
