Biography

Frederick G. Kushner is an MD specializing in Cardiology. He is an interventional cardiologist with a focus on acute coronary syndromes and has been actively involved in the development of national practice guidelines. Currently, he serves as vice chair on the American College of Cardiology Foundation/American Heart Association Guideline Management ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction writing committee. Additionally, he is a member of the American College of Cardiology Task Force on Clinical Practice Guidelines and the Science Board to the FDA. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Kushner is dedicated to teaching and mentoring students, house staff, and young faculty, having taught numerous courses on the doctor–patient relationship. He also spends time each spring and fall at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he teaches cardiology fellows and volunteers. Dr. Kushner is a clinical professor of medicine at both Louisiana State University and Tulane University School of Medicine, where he has been recognized with the Alpha Omega Alpha Volunteer Clinical Faculty Award.
