Biography

Frédérique Arroyas is a Professor of French Studies at the University of Guelph and a co-investigator for the research project Improvisation, Community, and Social Practices. Her research focuses on interart relations, the intersections of music and literature, and the digital adaptations of literary texts. She has coordinated various conferences and cultural events, including the Colloque Nouveaux mondes, nouveaux espaces in Toronto (2010) and the biennial Summer Institute in Critical Studies in Improvisation at the University of Guelph (2010, 2008). Dr. Arroyas is also a co-editor of the online journals Critical Studies in Improvisation/Études critiques en improvisation and Revue Synergies Canada.
