Biography

Associate Professor Fredrick Joshua is a dedicated physician specializing in the treatment of rheumatic diseases, with expertise in rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriatic arthritis. He completed his PhD focusing on the use of ultrasound in rheumatoid arthritis and has presented his research internationally in these areas. Professor Joshua has pioneered rheumatological ultrasound in Australia and has developed a degree in this specialty for rheumatologists through the Australian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine, where he currently serves as President Elect. He has been actively involved in teaching medical students and junior doctors and was previously awarded the Prince of Wales Clinical School Teacher of the Year. At Macquarie University, he contributes to developing the undergraduate medical program and is the Clinical Discipline Head of Medicine in Rheumatology. Professor Joshua takes pride in caring for his patients and ensuring they understand their problems, working together toward effective solutions.
