Fredrik Schaufelberger is an assistant professor specializing in supramolecular nanochemistry at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He obtained his undergraduate degree from KTH and the ETH Zürich from 2007 to 2012, followed by PhD studies at KTH focusing on supramolecular dynamic covalent chemistry under the supervision of Olof Ramström. His dissertation research led to a collaboration with David Leigh at the University of Manchester, where he was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship from 2017 to 2020. During his time in Manchester, he studied functional molecular knots and chemically fuelled molecular assemblies, specifically rotaxanes. In 2020, he completed a research stay at Imperial College London with Molly M. Stevens, working on biosensing and drug delivery. Fredrik has a huge passion for beautiful molecules and knots, and he spends a lot of time thinking about molecular machines integrated into materials and living systems.
