Biography

Fredy Tantri is currently a Lecturer at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). He joined SUTD in September 2022. Prior to this role, Fredy served as a data science trainer, focusing on teaching data analytics tools such as Excel, PowerBI, SQL, RPA, and Python Programming. His research interests include machine learning, augmented intelligence, data science, and visual computing, where he has been involved in projects utilizing state-of-the-art deep learning models on cloud platforms. Fredy obtained his Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2020, under the supervision of Associate Professors Sulfikar Amir and Cheung Sai Hung, with a dissertation titled 'Modeling Simulation Sociotechnical Resilience'. During his Ph.D., he conducted weekly Python workshops and consultations for the NTU community. His academic journey also includes a B.Sc. in Physics from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, completed in 2015, with a thesis on fluid simulation using the lattice Boltzmann method. In addition to his teaching and programming pursuits, Fredy enjoys traveling, hiking, swimming, table tennis, and reading.
