Frido Wenten joined the Department of Management at LSE in January 2018. He conducts research on labor relations and industrial development, with a focus on the global automotive industry in China and Mexico. Frido is particularly interested in the constitutive role that non-elite social groups play in political economic change and institutional settlements, as well as the wider implications for theorizing development and social change. He completed his PhD in Development Studies at SOAS and holds postgraduate degrees from the Free University of Berlin and the University of Sussex. Before joining his current department, Frido taught at the Department of International Development at LSE and the Department of Development Studies at SOAS. He has also held a Postdoctoral Fellowship funded by the ESRC Global Challenges Research Fund.
