Biography

Frido Wenten joined the Department of Management at the London School of Economics in January 2018. His research focuses on labour relations and industrial development, particularly in the global automotive industries of China and Mexico. He is especially interested in the role that non-elite social groups play in political and economic change, as well as the institutional settlements that arise from such transformations. This research holds significant implications for understanding development and social change. Frido completed his PhD in Development Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and has postgraduate degrees from the Free University of Berlin and the University of Sussex. Before joining the Department of Management, he taught at the Department of International Development at LSE and the Department of Development Studies at SOAS, and held a Postdoctoral Fellowship with the Economic and Social Research Council's Global Challenges Research Fund.
