Dr. Fuyubi Nakamura

Biography

Fuyubi Nakamura is a socio-cultural anthropologist trained at the University of Oxford. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia and serves as Curator for Asia at the Museum of Anthropology. Her work primarily focuses on the intersections of museum studies and visual anthropology, exploring how cultural representations are crafted and perceived in contemporary contexts. Additionally, she is an Associate Member of the Department of Anthropology, contributing to both teaching and research initiatives. Through her diverse academic background and curatorial experiences, Nakamura engages with complex cultural narratives and promotes an understanding of Asian cultural dynamics within a global context.
