Biography

Fynn Ohlrogge (formerly Gerken) is an Assistant Professor of Accounting Information Management at Maastricht University. He joined Maastricht University in 2020 after earning his PhD from the University of Antwerp in Belgium. Fynn’s research focuses on firms' disclosure strategies and the use of information by market participants in capital markets. He is particularly interested in how digital technology impacts firms' efficiency, innovation, and employment. In 2022, he received a Marie Curie fellowship from the European Union amounting to €200,000 to investigate the causes and consequences of firms' increasing emphasis on artificial intelligence. His research has been published in reputable journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Behavioral Research in Accounting, and Public Relations Review. Fynn coordinates and teaches courses in information management at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, he has served as a visiting researcher in the Operations, Information Decisions Department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and at the Fisher School of Accounting at the University of Florida.
