Dr. G Alexander Moore

Biography

Professor Moore researches anthropology education, political anthropology, urban anthropology, ethnographic film, and film criticism, with a regional interest in Latin America. His current project, 'Jungle Book: Viewing Yanomami Print Camera,' studies the ethnographies of the Yanomami Indians as seen in film, contrasting their portrayals with written accounts. He has also researched the life cycles of Alotenango and the diverse careers of Guatemalans. A seasoned cultural anthropologist, he has conducted extensive field studies in human behavior. Moore's work has been recognized at conferences, including the American Anthropological Association, and he has presented his findings on indigenous cultural practices relating to coming-of-age ceremonies in Panama. He has authored multiple books and contributed to significant academic discussions on anthropology education and cultural anthropology. His leadership roles in the Department of Anthropology at USC highlight his commitment to advancing the field.
