Gabriel Gruener received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from UAM in Mexico City in 1992. He joined the Orbital Systems Lab at the University of Colorado at Boulder as a Fulbright Scholar, where he earned his PhD in 1998, focusing on the development of telemedicine systems using haptic cues. Following his doctoral studies, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Robotics of ETH Zürich from 1998 to 2001. In 2017, he became a professor of Robotics in the Micro Medical Engineering Master's program at Bern University of Applied Sciences in Biel, where he also leads the HuCE-roboticsLab. His courses are part of the Master's Program in Biomedical Engineering, specifically in Medical Robotics.
