Gabe Hrynick is an archaeologist specializing in the study of coastal hunter-gatherers, particularly their domestic ritual structures and spaces, as well as their adaptations to changing coastal environments. His research spans from time periods 13,000 years ago to the 17th Century and emphasizes active public archaeology and experiential education. He has directed the Northeastern Archaeological Survey for over a decade, leading multi-disciplinary field research across the coastal Northeast. His contributions to public communication in archaeology have been recognized with awards from the Canadian Archaeological Association. Dr. Hrynick is also a co-author of 'Archaeology of the Atlantic Northeast' (University of Toronto Press, 2021) and has co-edited 'Far Northeast: 3,000 BP Contact' (Canadian Museum of History/University of Ottawa Press, 2022).
