Biography

Gabriel Vecchi is a professor in the Department of Geosciences at Princeton University and the director of the High Meadows Environmental Institute (HMEI). His research focuses on climate science, particularly extreme weather events such as hurricanes, mechanisms of precipitation variability and change, and ocean-atmosphere interactions. Vecchi is also involved in detection and attribution studies related to climate phenomena. Additionally, he serves as the deputy director of the Cooperative Institute for Modeling the Earth System (CIMES), where he collaborates closely with the Princeton Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory.
