Biography

Gabriela holds a BSc in Physical Therapy from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and a MSc in Exercise Science from Concordia University, Canada. She obtained physiotherapy equivalence in Canada in 2009 and has worked in both French and English environments. Her areas of expertise include acute care, outpatient neurological rehabilitation, and return to work policies. Gabriela joined the University of Alberta in 2013 as a teaching assistant for the Internationally Educated Physiotherapist Bridging Program while continuing her clinical work. In 2016, she became part of the full-time teaching staff for the MScPT program in Calgary and has served as the Clinical Education Coordinator, supporting physiotherapy placements across Alberta. Her research interests focus on neurological rehabilitation, physical activity, community integration, aging, and clinical education.
