Biography

Gabriela Lopez, PhD, is a clinical researcher and adult psychologist dedicated to examining and reducing mental health disparities among sexual and racial/ethnic minority women with histories of sexual assault. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and also serves as a Research Scientist at Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Lopez received her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2020 from the University of New Mexico and completed her residency in Adult Psychology at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Her research interests primarily focus on the intersection of alcohol use, sexual assault, and the unique challenges faced by sexual and racial/ethnic minority women. Dr. Lopez's work aims to contribute to a greater understanding of these critical issues and inform interventions to support affected individuals.
