Biography

Gabriele Bavota is a Full Professor at the Università della Svizzera italiana, where he leads the SEART research group and contributes to the Software Institute. His research focuses on various aspects of software engineering, including Artificial Intelligence for Software Engineering (AI4SE), software maintenance and evolution, mining software repositories, and empirical software engineering. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Salerno in 2013. Bavota has been the principal investigator on several significant research grants, including the ERC Starting grant for DEVINTA. He has served on numerous program committees and editorial boards for top-tier software engineering journals and conferences. His contributions to the field have been recognized through several awards, including the ACM Sigsoft Early Career Researcher Award.
