Dr. Gabriele Lepori

Biography

Gabriele Lepori holds a PhD in Economics from Michigan State University, USA, and joined the University of Southampton Business School in September 2019. He has previously served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, and as a Lecturer in Finance at Keele University, UK. His academic career includes positions as a visiting scholar at Uppsala University in Sweden and the University of Nevada–Reno in the United States. Dr. Lepori's research focuses on behavioral asset pricing where he examines the psychological and sociological forces that influence decision-making and risk behavior among individual investors in financial markets. His interdisciplinary work intersects finance, economics, and public health, addressing issues like the impacts of macroeconomic factors on public health outcomes. He teaches modules on Behavioral Finance and Futures & Options and is a member of the Review Team for the Business School's Research Ethics Sub-Committee. Dr. Lepori's findings have appeared in prominent academic journals and have been discussed in financial press outlets such as The Economist and The Wall Street Journal.
