Professor Gabriele Multhoff holds the Chair of Experimental Radiation Oncology and Radiation Biology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Her research focuses on the development of innovative immunological prognostic therapy methods leveraging heat shock proteins, particularly in conjunction with conventional radiotherapy. Under her leadership, a BMBF-funded randomized clinical phase II trial, "Targeted NK cell based adjuvant immunotherapy treatment patients NSCLC radiochemotherapy," has shown promising results, suggesting that NK cells significantly contribute to the control of solid tumors when combined with radiotherapy. Prof. Multhoff has a rich academic background, having studied biology at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU), where she received her doctorate in immunology in 1990 and later habilitated in 1998. In 2002, she was appointed as a Professor of Experimental Haematology at the University Hospital Regensburg before moving to TUM in 2007. She is also the founder and managing director of multimmune GmbH and serves as a member of various scientific societies and commissions, including the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Her work has earned her numerous awards, including the Prof. Peter Vaupel Award, CESAR-Prize, and the ESHO-BSD European Society Hyperthermic Oncology Award.
