Biography

Gaby Judah is a behavioural scientist at the Institute of Global Health Innovation, Imperial College London. She leads a theme within the NIHR North West London Patient Safety Research Collaboration that focuses on 'Influencing Patient Healthcare Worker Behaviour to Optimize Safety and Minimize Risk'. Gaby completed her PhD at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2014, where she investigated the psychological determinants of habit formation in health-related behaviours. Her current research projects include addressing clinician burnout, examining the determinants of medication adherence particularly in patients with hypertension taking statins, enhancing cancer screening uptake, promoting physical activity among breast cancer survivors to reduce recurrence, and improving the discharge process to ensure safer transitions between secondary and primary care. Recent work has evaluated the impact of different types of financial incentives on attendance at diabetic eye screening appointments. Gaby's research interests revolve around applying behaviour change principles to enhance health outcomes for patients and the public, with a focus on leveraging learning and predictors of health-related behaviours to encourage sustained behaviour change.
